Pickard-Cambridge, 1899 (contra Ubick & Roth, 1973b: 2) and considered a senior synonym of Gosiphrurus Chamberlin & Ivie, 1935 (type G. scleratus Chamberlin & Ivie, 1935) by Roth, 1982: D-1 and Roth, 1985: B-8-4.
