N.B.: replacement name for Centromeria Strand, 1901b: 32 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05366], preoccupied in Hemiptera by Stål, 1870; Centromerides Strand, 1928b: 43 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05367] and Centromerinus Simon, 1929: 546, 720 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05368] are superfluous replacement names; the synonymy of Centromerita with Centromerus Dahl, 1886 suggested by Saaristo & Tanasevitch, 1996b: 175 was not accompanied by a justification, and is therefore not followed here; as well the same synonymy, proposed by Breitling, 2019b: 29 and Breitling, 2021: 21, is not accepted here as it is based mainly on COI (see FAQ 7) and a further splitting of the polyphyletic genus Centromerus is expected.
