  • It is widely assumed that most of the type material from Simon can be found in the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, France
  • Holotype: Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde, Stuttgart (SMNS), Germany; type material of Gasteracantha fornicata hundeshageni Strand, 1907 destroyed 1944 (Renner, 1988b)
  • Syntype: Museum Wiesbaden, formerly Naturhistorisches Museum (MWNH), Wiesbaden, Germany; 1f 1j(f) (Nr. 320) of Gasteracantha kulczynskii Strand, 1906 (Jäger, 1998b)
