N.B.: the authorship of the family is corrected from Thorell, 1869: 46 to Simon, 1864: 393 (sub Philodromiens) following the arguing by Marusik & Özkütük, 2026: 276; the French ending -iens was not accepted as taxon at familiar level by Bonnet, Platnick and in the WSC until 2026; elevated from a subfamily of the Thomisidae by Homann, 1975: 181; a division into the subfamilies Philodrominae and Thanatinae Schick, 1965: 86 (described as a tribe) is supported by do Prado et al., 2022: 25.
