Family: Gnaphosidae Banks, 1892 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spiderfam:0054] Back
Gen.
Drassodes Westring, 1851 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:02417 ]
N.B.: for the genus name Drassus Walckenaer, 1805 see Gnaphosa; considered a senior synonym of Geodrassus Chamberlin, 1922: 159 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05737] (type Drassodes gosiutus Chamberlin, 1919) by Ubick & Roth, 1973a: 1, of Mesklia Roewer, 1928b: 111 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:05738] (type M. serratichelis Roewer, 1928) by Chatzaki, Thaler & Mylonas, 2002b: 618, and of Kirmaka Roewer, 1961c: 22 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:02440] (type K. krausi Roewer, 1961), Sillemia Reimoser, 1935: 173 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:02479] (type S. clavifemur Reimoser, 1935) and Siruasus Roewer, 1961c: 12 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:02480] (type S. crassipalpus Roewer, 1961) by Murphy, 2007: x, 54; the revival of Geodrassus Chamberlin, 1922 by Barrion & Litsinger, 1995: 194 is not accepted here, as the new species they assigned to that genus is an echemine rather than a drassodine [and meanwhile transferred to Hongkongia Song & Zhu, 1998], and they did not transfer back the type species of Geodrassus from Drassodes; South African species probably belong to Haplodrassus Chamberlin, 1922 per Murphy, 2007: 54; Brachydrassodes Caporiacco, 1934a: 13 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:06049] (type D. singularis Caporiacco 1934, replaced by D. singulariformis Roewer, 1951) was described as subgenus of Drassodes.
